First Time at Smash Bros? Here's Exactly What to Order

October 21, 2026

You're standing at the counter on Biscayne, the griddle is roaring, and the board has more good options than you have hands. We get it. So here's the honest, no-nonsense ordering guide to Smash Bros Burgers and Shakes — what each burger actually tastes like, who it suits, what to drink with it, and how to get in and out without overthinking it.

Short version: you can't really go wrong. Long version: there's a right burger for the mood you walked in with. Let's find yours.

First, how this place works

We smash to order. Nothing sits under a heat lamp waiting for you. A ball of grass-fed or American Wagyu beef hits a screaming flat-top, gets pressed hard into the surface, and the edges go lacy and brown while the middle stays juicy. That brown crust is the whole point — it's where the flavour lives. If you want the full nerdy explanation, we wrote it up in what a smash burger actually is and how we get that crust.

Practical bit: every burger comes single or double. Single is one patty, and it's a proper lunch. Double is two thinner patties with twice the crust and a layer of cheese in the middle, and it's the one most regulars land on. More patties means more crust-to-beef ratio. That's not greed, that's maths.

The OG Smash — start here if you're new

If it's your first visit and you want to know what we're about, order the OG Smash. It's the benchmark. Beef, American cheese melted into the crust, and a build that doesn't get in the way of the meat.

Who it suits: anyone who wants to taste the beef and the tallow and the crust without a dozen other flavours competing. Purists. Kids. People who say "I just want a really good cheeseburger." Also anyone who's about to judge us — this is the one we'd want you to judge us on.

Get it as a double. Then next time, if you loved it but wanted lighter, go single.

And the Classic?

The Classic is the straight-down-the-line cheeseburger build — the one you grew up wanting. If you're ordering for a table with a fussy eater, a teenager, or someone who thinks truffle is a personality trait they don't have, the Classic is the safe hand. Safe here doesn't mean boring. Same beef, same crust.

Truffle Wagyu — when you want the splashy one

Some nights you want dinner. Some nights you want an event. The Truffle Wagyu is the event.

Truffle is a loud ingredient, and a lot of places use it to hide mediocre beef. We use it on top of American Wagyu that already tastes rich on its own, so what you get is layered rather than perfumey — deep, savoury, a little earthy, and still unmistakably a burger.

Who it suits: date night. Payday. Your friend visiting from out of town who keeps saying Miami is overrated. Anyone who already knows what our OG tastes like and wants the upgrade. It's the richest thing on the board, so if you're pairing it with a thick shake, maybe split the fries.

Philly Cheese Smash — the one people come back for

The Philly Cheese Smash is the sleeper that doesn't stay a sleeper for long. It takes the cheesesteak idea — beef, peppers, onions, a proper blanket of melted cheese — and runs it through the smash burger format, so you get crispy griddled edges instead of a soft chopped pile.

It's messy. It's meant to be. Take the extra napkins. Two hands, elbows on the table, no apologies.

Who it suits: the hungriest person in the group. Anyone who loves a cheesesteak but finds them a bit one-note. People who like savoury over sweet and want zero fruit, zero sauce sweetness, just beef and alliums and cheese doing their thing.

It moves fast on busy nights, so if you've got your heart set on it, order ahead rather than hoping.

Krispy Bacon Glaze — sweet, salty, crunchy, correct

The case for the Krispy Bacon Glaze is simple: salt, fat, crunch and a sweet glaze hitting at the same time. Bacon done properly — actually crisp, not floppy and sad — against the beef crust, with the glaze pulling it all together.

Who it suits: the sweet-and-savoury crowd. If you're the kind of person who puts maple on fried chicken, dips fries in a shake, or orders the bacon jam version of everything, this is your burger and you already knew it.

Who it doesn't: if you want pure beef flavour front and centre, go back up to the OG. There's no wrong answer, only wrong mood.

Don't skip the fries. Seriously.

Most burger places treat fries as the thing that fills the box. Ours aren't that. The tallow fries are cooked in wagyu beef fat, which does two things oil can't: it crisps the outside harder, and it leaves a savoury, roast-beef-dinner depth on the back of your tongue.

Eat one plain before you reach for anything to dip it in. That's the test. If you want to know why we went to the trouble of frying in beef fat instead of a cheap neutral oil, we explained the whole thing in our piece on wagyu tallow fries.

One order feeds one hungry person or two polite people. There are usually no polite people.

Which shake goes with which burger

Shakes aren't an afterthought here — they're half the name. Three to know:

  • Choco Loco — the thick, full-on chocolate one. Pair it with the OG Smash or the Classic. Chocolate and a salty beef crust is one of those combinations that sounds like a dare and tastes like it was always meant to be.
  • Sooo Vanilla — cleaner, creamier, and the smart pick alongside anything rich. If you're having the Truffle Wagyu or the Krispy Bacon Glaze, vanilla cools things down instead of piling on. It's also the best fry-dipping shake. Try it once and then pretend you always did it.
  • Root Beer Float — the one you order when it's 90 degrees outside and you want fizz, not heft. Lighter than a straight shake, sharper on the palate, and it cuts straight through the Philly Cheese Smash. Also the most nostalgic thing on the menu by a mile.

Three orders that always work

  1. The first-timer: OG Smash (double), tallow fries, Choco Loco. This is the full introduction to what we do, in one tray.
  2. The big night: Truffle Wagyu (double), tallow fries, Sooo Vanilla. Rich, then richer, then cool and creamy to finish.
  3. The hot afternoon: Philly Cheese Smash (single), tallow fries, Root Beer Float. Savoury and sharp, and you'll still be able to move afterwards.

Ordering for a group? Get one of each burger, double the fries, and pass everything around. That's the fastest way to find your regular order, and it's how most of our regulars found theirs. Full line-up and prices are on the Smash Bros menu.

Finding us, parking, and skipping the queue

We're at 2925 Biscayne Blvd in Miami. It's a straight shot down Biscayne, easy to spot, and walkable if you're already in Edgewater or the Design District.

Parking: there's street parking along Biscayne and on the quieter side streets just off it. Evenings and weekends get busier, so give yourself an extra couple of minutes — or do what a lot of people do and order ahead for pickup, so your food is boxed and hot when you pull up.

For pickup, order through our Toast page. It's the quickest route if you're on a lunch break or feeding people at home. Current opening hours, directions and the phone number all live on our contact page — worth a quick check before you drive over, especially late or on a holiday.

One last tip

Order the double. Everyone who orders the single looks at their friend's double and goes quiet. We've seen it a hundred times. It's the crust — once you've had twice as much of it, the single feels like a warm-up.

Come hungry, grab napkins, and tell us what you ordered. We'll remember next time.

Hungry yet? Come get one.
